This book is aimed primarily at owners of small building and construction companies who want to learn more about health and safety. However, it is also useful for self-employed tradesmen involved in construction and managers for medium-sized construction companies. It follows a logical path through building activities and outlines the sensible precautions to take to keep you and others safe.
The Author started his career designing and supervising house extensions before progressing to major civil engineering projects in the UK and overseas as a Chartered Engineer. He is a Chartered Member of IOSH, the primary UK health and safety membership organisation, and a qualified teacher. His mission is to share sensible health and safety advice with as many people as possible and to raise standards of health and safety in the process. This book does not quote complex legislation but seeks to identify what you actually need to do to work safely, protect others and, in doing so, comply with health and safety law in Great Britain.
